I find myself spending the vast majority of my music listening via my Yamaha in-ears. They sound very good to me, but unfortunately not at all comfortable. I decided to purchase a different brand, Paradigm something?. They visually appeared to be suitable to my narrow ear canal but I was unsure about how they would sound. The dealer was unwilling to let me test them out, due to hygienic reasons and due the fact that packaging would be destroyed. I (unwisely) decided to buy them because the packaging claimed they are tuned to sound like the Paradigm Studio series. It just so happens that I own some speakers in the Studio range and quite like them.

Long story short is they fit me much better than the Yamahas but they sound terrible. How I hate them.

With the bitter taste of the purchase still lingering heavily, I want to get something else but I will not be buying without determining if I?m happy with the sound (at least) and ensuring that whatever I?m considering fits comfortably.

I?m considering a pair of Shure phones now but at their price I will not be taking a leap of faith. Not again.

Those who have bought the more high end in-earphones, how did you go about it?
