I saw a post the other day, someone likening the AV world to Motor industry ito depreciation rate.

I lost way too much on cars (one car I owned for a one and a half years (18 months) and had to part ways with it; Lost 50% of what I paid in that process.

On AV, I have lost some but scored here and there too. For instance, bought a brand spanking new AV Receiver from Vaughn (Mr Bentley) for 60% it?s retail value. My overall aggregated losses are less than R20k which compared to the losses on cars, this is a walk in the park. Most of my losses were when I started too, the ?school fees? [emoji28]

There is selling under duress, which we can ignore. Can?t buy an item today and flock it tomorrow and expect what you paid, patience counts!

But, what?s been your personal journey? Scored more than you lost or vice versa?

I feel for blokes selling truly high end stuff, eg Vivids and those selling premium unpopular brands eg Elacs (top quality just not popular on this forum). There are many other examples too.

Keen to hear your personal AV journey
