Hi guys,

Up to now I've been looking for an AV receiver leaning more towards decent audio performance (to drive something like a pair of KEF iQ90's properly) - the idea is start with 2.0 or 2.1 and sort the surround out later. Initially started out at the Yamaha 765... but have been advised, for audio purposes, to spend the extra cash to go up to a 2065. My total budget for all of this (including speakers) is +-R25,000 btw.

Now... I want that extra cash to step up to a Yam 2065 to contribute 100% to additional audio performance... but with the AV receivers... a lot of the extra cash goes towards extra Video/DSP/Zones features which I really do not want right now!!

So, I've come to the conclusion... that the way to go for me is to get a decent Player with the best possible Digital Decoding to handle the decoding... and pass that on to a dedicated stereo amp (unless there is an amp that has built-in Digital Audio decoding without all the extra video stuff).

With a budget of R25,000 (the KEF iQ90's coming out of that budget as well), what would you guys recommend for a Player + Stereo Amp (or any other combo of hardware) that will allow me to play CD Audio, DVD Audio as well as the BluRay HD audio standards as well? For now a sub is optional and can also be added later.

Cheers!
