My parents-in-law have passed on an original B&O type 610 amp on too me. It was bought new (in Canada) in 1963. Up until 10 years ago it was in daily use. On the inside of the cabinet it is dated 27/11/1962.
I am not keen to switch it on until someone in the know can have a good close look at it. I have opened it up and have noted there are 1 or 2 wires that seem to have come loose. It is also missing 1 - 2 control knobs & the balance-thingy is broken. It will need a good clean
I am currently having the wooden cabinet repaired
It will probably need valve and some caps replaced.
Is there anyone who can do a good job of bringing this baby safely back to life? I live in Greenside, Gauteng.
