Hi Guys

Just looking for some information. I understand the difference between balanced and unbalanced interconnects. What I am trying to understand is how a tonearm cable can be balanced. There are obviously four cables from the cartridge which correspond to the +/- of each channel. And I understand that the ground comes from the tonearm. But the ground runs separately and not within the interconnect. If the interconnect has two cores which is how the cable is 'balanced' then where does the shield connect on the DIN plug? Does it connect to the middle pin along with the ground cable making the cable 'pseudo-balanced' ( or whatever else you wish to call it )? Or is it just ignored?

Hope my question makes sense and apologies if this has been answered previously??????.
