For years I have been reading moneysavingexpert.com, a UK based financial/general website and have put many of their suggestions to use, including travel money, travel insurance, claiming back from airlines when you are kept waiting for more than 3 hours (didn't work during the Icelandic volcano)
But one of their more useful links are 1p bargains from amazon.co.uk. There are literally thousands of items priced between 1p and ?5.00 that are marked down up to 100%. You obviously have to watch the postage, but amazon will let you combine articles and when you have about 5 its time to ship
Check out: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cheap-amazon-loopholes
This will let you choose the category and department and actually build a list of what is currently available
There are plenty of other snippets of useful information that is applicable to us folks in SA.
One interesting and easy to use opportunity is to write slogans, jingles and create reports on products, for which you get paid. Details can be found here
