Has anyone lisened to BBC transcription discs? Apparently for a long time they recorded concerts and broadcasts in very good stereo and quadrophonic modes.
I heard one the other night, a bunch of early Pink Floyd songs that were broadcast in 1968 or thereabouts. The owner got it out with the same reverence as the Holy Grail would get, and it sounded fantastic. I only recognized two songs- See Emliy Play and Be Careful with that Axe Eugene. They sounded quite different and were clearly live.
Any other experience of these? They would be a great source to digitise!
