My son plays drums and I'm forcing him to wear headphones to save his ears. His backing tracks are played through them.
He is complaining that he cannot hear the drums properly. I gave it a bash ( literally ! ) just now and agree with him. You can hardly hear your own drums when the backing track is at a comfortable volume level.
Basically I'm looking for a pair of on-ear cans that only slightly mutes outside sounds. At the moment he has Senny 202's.
I have also tried my HD380's and Sony 7506 which also isolate too much.
I know Grado's bleed a lot, but is there anything more cost effective out there that will do the job ?
