Good day

Please give me some advice. I don't want to spend heap of cash or any for that matter.  :help:

I need to connect a sound system to my laptop. The only and best way without resorting to buying a DAC is a minijack to rca converter as far as I know. All of us knows that a DAC is pricey.  I would like to connect an Onkyo TX-SR506.

The other option is to make my NAD D3020 a travelling amplifier, which I am no so keen to do, and of course to connect the same via USB.

The aim is to have decent sound rather than top end audiophile sound quality. This is not a permanent set up, but would really like to have quality sound with me. Missing my hifi, as due to my circumstances I can't be near at all times

Apologies if this is the wrong thread for this topic.

Would the minijack to rca converter suffice?

Will be doing a demo if I get sorted with speakers tomorrow.
