Hi, I'm looking at extending my home network... At the moment the ADSL router is in the study (on one end of the house). It has a Wireless-N network, but this is just, just barely reaching the living room (on other other end of the house).
In order to avoid cabling hassle, I was thinking of doing this:
- Buying a set of powerline network adapters, and plugging one end in at the study, and the other in the living room.
- Then connect the ADSL router to the adapter in the study.
- And connect the other adapter (in the living room) to a spare wifi router I have at home already to create another wireless network in that side of the house.
Does that sound sensible? And is it easy to configure? Would I be able to "see" the 2nd router (in the living room) from the PC in the study for config purposes?
Complete, complete noob at this...
As a secondary thought, I was wondering which powerline adapters work best (was looking at TP-link), and also whether I should just buy one with wireless built in?
