As the fear of getting hi-jacked scares the living daylights out of me, I arive at home like this. I stop in the street, sort of like parallel parking, then I open the gate. My reasoning for this is that I will not them be blocked in my driveway. I can just reverse or drive away when SHTF.
But here comes the problem.. I live in a complex. The manager does not like it that the gate can be opened from a relatively far distance. He wants to to practically have us stop on the gate before the remote can open it. I feel he is wrong, but that is that. So therefore I sometimes have to switch off my car to get the remote out of the window to open the gate. Not safe at all.
Do you perhaps get more powerfull remotes? Remotes that can open the gate reliably to 10 meters away, without the need to switch off my car?
Don't you get a remote that is strong that can be built into your car, maybe activated by headlights or so?
