Just an interesting experience.
Some time ago I bought an Onkyo SR-806. I was initially hesitant as some people reported the Onkyos getting hot. Other people reported no problem with it. With me - it did get quite hot (top right).
I now changed my speaker cable from an 0.75mm to a 5mm (from www.bluejeans.com), re-arranged my lounge to reduce the speaker distance from 15m to 5m and bi-wired the fronts. Now ... the Onkyo does not get hot anymore, just slightly warm.
