Ok, so I have read a bit on several blogs and forums about bi-amping and here is my own situation...
I currently run a set of B&W 800D's. They are powered by a Rotel RB1090. This amplifier has two seperate power supplies and share only a common power cable as far as I understand...
I am mostly happy with the sound, but I have another RB1090 spare - you see where this is going...
Please can you advise to steer me in the right direction? Is bi-amping a good idea in this case? (I see one Rb1090 per 800D in other words)... This as I undertand it, would be different to conventional Bi-amping (say in an AV receiver) where you still have only one power supply that ultimately still powers everything.
Am I wasting my time? I suppose I would have to get some other cables? I currently run XLR cabes from my pre-amp (Marantz AV8003) to the Rotel...
If benefits exist from this bi-amping method, what is the best way forward?
Thanks a lot!
