I purchased that ATC amplifier thats been floating around here for a number of years from Chingy a month or so ago. I knew the amp quite well in a previous owners system, and I’d always liked it.
Unfortunately, the amp started tripping a DC offset fault about two weeks after I got it. A heavy blow to me, you can imagine.
I called Dewald on a Sunday. Without the slightest irritation at my untimely bother, he talked me through some things to check.
Failing those basic checks, the amp was with Dewald on Monday. I spent a lovely afternoon at Dewald’s workshop where we opened the amp together and hooked up Dewalds Audio Precision analyser. What a relief to see the level of competence in both skill and equipment I was entrusting my investment to.
Another great thanks to ATC themselves, who after receipt of a signed basic NDA, furnished us with schematics, and even a concise walkthrough over email from their head technician.
Exactly one week later, yesterday, Dewald calls and says my amplifier is ready! I was expecting to be without it for weeks.
And imagine my great relief and pleasure when I get the after service specs in the pics!!
My amplifier is as good as new, and ready to provide another 20 years service. I’m absolutely thrilled by its performance now, and I believe this ATC amplifier has found its final home.
