ok i want to get a decent blu-ray player at a later stage but for now need to understand all the terminology...
Can someone explain to me what LPCM is and why it seems so important - and why the reviewers say they use the LPCM decoding through the av receiver. If you connect the blu-ray up through HDMI the receiver will automatically work out the default decoding to use anyway???
The receiver is most probably going to be onkyo, the onkyo blu-ray player reviews that i have quickly had a run through - are not good..can onkyo actually make a decent blu-ray player???
I read the review on the sony blu-ray BDP-S360 - it was an ok review but there is still better out there (the guys are saying the panasonic's and the samsungs are excellent for the same money) - there is also a sony av sync if you have a bravia tv - where all is synched - not sure how nb that is but sounds usefull...
what would you recommend i look at - not exceeding R3500 - what about the playstation 3 - the blu-ray reviews on that is better than what i've been reading on the onkyo reviews...
