Seeing as though its the day for Open Talk- let me start another topic!

I have always been fascinated by Bonsai trees and at 38 1/2 yrs old, I have just purchased my first 'real' Bonsai for Bharti for Xmas as she is also in love with plants and trees. I visited a place called Mikubu Bonsai (just off Olifantsfontein in Midrand) and spent a fantastic hour with Jonathan. He introduced me to the basics and showed me a wide variety of trees. I eventually settled on a young wild olive and it is now hidden away until Sunday. What a nice guy- I would recommend this place to anyone looking for bonsai trees. He also keeps a huge stock of pots plus all the bits and pieces that you need to grow and maintain your tree(s)

I am very interested to take this up as a hobby. We already have two of those Woolies 'bosai' style trees (not true Bonsai but they look similar) and they are growing fantastically so I am holding thumbs that we will get good growth from the latest addition!

Is anyone else interested in this hobby?
