When you think of British tonearms then the two usual suspects are SME (particularly the 3009 Sii) and Rega (RB series). Both companies have sold bucketloads of arms...

I have run into two of a the 'smaller' manufacturers ('cottage industry' might be offensive) and both arms have impressed me.

First off the Logic Datum:

Logic Datum 2 un-boxing - headshell

The Datum has really impressed me and I think sonically it is the best arm I have owned (The Ittik LVII comes a close second but the Logic to my ears pips it to the post)...

Second: Helius Standard/Aurum Tonearm

Helius Standard/Aurum Tonearm - the other side

Not as good as the Logic but better than an SME 3009SII by quite a long shot...

I know that Geko (Rudi) has enjoyed working (and using) with the Syrinx arms before...

What other British 'Cottage Industry' manufacturers should I look for?
