So I want to build a standmounter, of modest cost, but capable of playing classical music, we are talking orchestras, piano, flute, oboe, violins, the works... Bass, well it must be at least suggested. What is not negotiable is a sense of scale to the music, classical music needs some drama... even if it doesn't hit you in the gut... Absolutely no fudge in the XO.... Size, well this will have to give way to the above requirements...

What am I looking for in drivers?
As a reference a sonor Ht-1 or 2 is good enough, B&W 685 not really worth the money, Kef Q-whatever not really worth the money, MA RX2 not really worth the money... all of them make more audible fudge in the XO than the HT's everywhere else they are acceptable, if not great.

I would really like to use the SB-tweet, because it aint horrible, am wondering if in looking for a partner for it, I am not missing good stuff?

I estimated that the driver needs to give acceptable levels of detail, fairly smooth frequency response, not a complete dog to drive... and if the SB tweets to be used, XO at 3.5 and above...

So 4 - 6 " or so...
Sensitivity well more is better, but at what cost to the application? would be nice if we get to 90dB1w1m2.83V
FS below a 100Hz

Need a useable 70Hz or so...
These are what has been looked at, and fall in the price range...
