Or more specifically, putting something together to deal with the newer HD material.
I can play HDmovies on my standard PC in my study, but it seems the CPU is doing all the work. Now, the PC is prolly around 2 years old already, so I can understand why the graphics card is not doing any work decompressing H264 content. The result of this is that the CPU fan kicks in all the time and this is rather noisy. I was under the impression that the newer Graphics cards does this decompression already? With HDMI?
I've been searching around for a while, but can't really find a definative answer on the proper configuration for such a machine using locally available bits. I was hoping someone here can shed some light on the configuration and help with some questions on how to go about this. And yes, I know I can just go and buy a TVix, but I'd like something more flexible. I'd also want to get a BR drive for the PC.
Any thoughts?
