Hi all,
Some years ago there seems to have been a regulation about the duration of how long a (house) burglar alarm is allowed to 'pollute' the neighbourhood. It was something like allowance to sound for 3-5 minutes, then off for 1 - 2 minutes, which cycle was allowed to repeat for a specific number of times before it was supposed to shut off permanently - according to regulations, anyway. I think the same applies to vehicle alarms - and most of them seem to follow that pattern.
Any info on this, please? (Yah yah, a department in the municipality - Pretoria in this case - is supposed to know about this, but the contemporary RSA way of shrugging the shoulders seems to have found its roots there as well ...... )
