My sister is is looking for a "hi-fi" setup. She was looking at an ipod dock with airplay/bluetooth capabilities.
Her lounge area is isn't on the small side, guess it's 4 x 6m that opens up to the dining and kitchen area, so I explained that an ipod dock will probably get lost and sound crappy in there. Acoustic wise, everything is modern with reflective surfaces and white to match her apple products. So ja, it's style over substance and I'm out of my depth then.
She was looking at the B&W Zeppelin so budget wise I guess it's around R6k, or one of the micro systems from yamaha, Nad or Denon.
I thought these Parrot Zikmu's will tick all the boxes, but at R15k...that's too expensive. http://www.i-fi.co.za/

My question is, what other options are there? Apple TV and amp with speakers? Or Bluetooth capable amp?
Maybe a HT setup with small satellites? They already have a PS3 and HD-PVR.

All I'm wondering is why she can't be such a gearslut as she's with her camera equipment and crapple products? You see a DAC, pre/power amps, and floorstanders are just so much easier.
