Seeing how Ramsay has his loudspeaker cables nicely supported above the floor I decided to make some impromptu lifters from some leftover plastic insulation foam. Previously the speaker cable just laid on the carpet.
I separated the positive and negative cables so that they about 6-10 cm apart from another and made certain no positive or negative speaker cable crossed each other.
Being skeptical myself I was actually pleasantly surprised- subjectively sounded as if subtle nuances in the music much were being portrayed much better.
My gut feel is that it not the lifters causing the change but the wider separation in the positive and negative wires running to the speakers. On the other there could have been power fluctuations in the Eskom power grid?
