Call barring

[Dumb and Dumber]

Since I bought my new Samsung S7 tablet with a data contract, I've been getting a lot of unknown calls. I do not use my phone app at all. I read I must just turn off call barring. The default password is given as 0000. But it is not working. Is there a way for the default password to be restored? I want to block all incoming calls on  my tablet.
