Calling Marantz owners

Ok so on my Marantz and my Denon if i recall im having the same problem. When i play a source set to bitstream i get the encoding provided. But when on dstv i always get pcm no matter what i do and it is set to fixed everything as far as i know is correct. Works on my yamaha but not on the marantz or denon.
