Camcorder\Video Cameras advice

I am thinking of buying a camcorder for general family use (Standard or High Def)

There seem to be 3 types I am interested (in order) :
1 - Memory Card (considering Canon FS 306 or 406)
2 - Harddrive
3 - DVD

Price Range : R2000 - R3000

What else do I need to consider or will any camera in my price range cover my requirements ?
Any suggestions welcome
