Can I buy a Google Pixel phone overseas and use it in ZA?

I'm severely dumb when it comes to phones. Sorry if this is a basic question:

Do Google Pixel phones work with our local service providers?

Has anyone had an issue using one of these phones in ZA?

I'm traveling later in the year and am thinking of getting one overseas and using it here.
