It's come to the point where it is really driving me up the wall :ticked:
Over the last few weeks I've done a bit of "shopping". We're busy doing some cosmetic fixes to our home so it's not clothes or shoes ( I know you were thinking that ) - we're talking extra ordinary amounts of DIY stuff, some furniture, taps, granite, curtains etc etc....
More times than I can count companies would do one of the following:
- Advertise an item on promo (usually brick and mortar stores), but if you arrive there on the morning of the sale it's already "sold out" when? BEFORE the sale? Supermarkets are legendary for this - they even clear a shelf to create the illusion.
- Announce product before their arrival... "oh sorry it will only be here 2 weeks from now... but i do have THIS ONE"
- Advertise discontinued items on their site as for sale.... "sorry we have not updated our site in 8 months"
- Advertise (in print, on the web etc) items as in stock that they don't actually have, and possibly don't have the means to get (at least not at the price advertised). When arriving at their store they -
---->Try and punt you a more expensive item
---->Actually deliver you a different item and say "I thought it wouldn't make a difference"...
---->Blame the supplier
Now... I understand if a promo was launched a week ago, quantities were limited and I missed out - my bad.
Nor am I talking about portals where they distinctly state that it is obtained from a third party or imported... I understand the risk.
I'm talking about "false advertising" or what seems to be just a method to take your money or get you in the door?!?!?
Honestly people I don't have the time!!!
Is this now a trend? Do I expect too much? Or am I just unlucky?
PS:And thank you for taking part in my therapy session
