CD player & DAC

Hi,

I have clue how this whole separate DAC works.  I need to be educated please.

Say I have a Vivire DAC and a Marantz CD player.

Can I play my CD's with the Marantz CDP but through the Vivire, thus bypassing the CDP's internal DAC.
