Thought I'd come back in here and give some feedback now that we're in the new year. Took the player to Rendon once he was open for business again, and he managed to do some adjustments to the laser and clean up the internals in a day or two that assisted with getting the player to now load any original discs that I play, many of which were previously unplayable. He did mention that there may be some issues with playing burned CD-Rs if the tracks aren't played sequentially, however that wasn't a huge concern as I only listen to original discs. Managed to track down a replacement laser (KSS240A), which I can grab from eBay and have installed by him should it come to that, but as of now everything is working as it should. Thanks so much for the recommendation! Would happily recommend him to others in the future. :)
