Anyone here given your kids cell phones?
My wife and I dread the day we hand our kids their first cell phones, given the horror stories of pornographic material circulating at schools and other risks that possession of such a device exposes them to.
But we recently experienced an incident in which, if the boy had had a means of contacting us (or we him), much anxiety and stress could have been avoided. If he had had a cell phone, the problem could have easily been resolved .
So - 9 y.o. boy: cell phone or not? What are the protective measures parents can take? Any advice?
