I have read the thread where this:

This is exaclty what I am experiencing in my setup. What can one do to better this? Placement? I am using Sony stuff for HT, so I know I am starting off with a challenge already ;D
The room is about 4x3 m with the one short side being open towards the kitchen area, the other short side having curtains on 85% of the wall, and the long side behind the couch, has a sliding door with a thick curtain in front of it. The wall behind the centre speaker is empty/non-treated though.
