Okay so here it goes.

Started my AV experience with a Yamaha YSP4100 Soundbar and Marantz UD5005 Player, sound is fantastic, it simulated a 7.1 set-up quite well and was seriously good for movies but lacked a lot when it came to music. Especially BD concerts etc. Still own it and moved to my kids game room with XBOX.Wii and PS3 connected. Does are great job for gaming.

Last year I decided to upgrade, the fact that I already own a B&W  Zeppelin Air and P-5 Headphones, my mind was set on remaining with the B&W's, after several options and advice, I purchased the latest M1's MT Series.I truly spectacular system, if performs excellent for both movies and music but again it is lacking something in my opinion for music. Don't know how to explain it, but when I listened to my brother's B&W 600 Series HT kit, it just sounded more powerful and dynamic if that is the right words. It was made up of 685's/HTM-1 Centre and 686 rears. Listening to Sting "Live in Berlin" and "Coldplay- Mylo Xloto" sounded stunning in my opinion and it was driven by the same Marantz amplifier/subwoofer as mine, similar room dimensions as well.

The MT set-up doesn't go wasted as it will move to my bedroom :)

I then decided its time for another upgrade to get to a level that I will be happy for sometime (Lets hope I don't get another itch after this) and let me invest in something that I don't plan to change again soon. So after reading numerous reviews/checking different options, once again excellent service and advice with many options/packages from B&W/Monitor Audio. After more of my own reviews checks and research decided the way to go is the Monitor Audio Gold GX series. In line with my budget and what is easy to ship to my temporary residence in Africa, I have decided to go with the GX100's/GXC150 and GX50 for rears. I have ordered the Arcam p38 power amp as an extension to my Marantz AV processor which I will upgrade at a later stage as well. I will be picking these up when I come to SA in July for holiday, cant wait now :)

Now my question to all those who have moved between these manufacturers, what is your experience, was it a major change in terms of sound/listening experience and to those GX Series owners what are your impressions of this speakers. They look stunning and I believe that I will have do more to get the most out of them. eg) Room Treatment etc but one step at a time.

I have no doubt the above kit based on the advice/reviews would certainly meet my requirements but would also like to hear some other's experiences.
