Changing OEM two pin plugs to three pin plugs

Hi guys
I have OEM two pin power supply cables running for my plasma and for my Onkyo AV receiver.
If I cut off the two pins and replace them with aftermarket standard three pin plugs, would there be any negative effect?
Just want to make sure before I get happy with a wire stripper and screwdriver ;D
