As the title suggests... I'm acquiring my 1st "Real" Subwoofer and would like a few recommendations.
The rest of my kit is B&W but I'm open to other brands that would offer more "bang for buck." Velodyne is mentioned a lot around here so what are your thoughts on those? A Logitech Z-5500 (180W) sub was previously doing duty in my system and TBH I was VERY impressed with it's performance. At around R3.5-R4K My budget is rather small but I'll be happy to go pre-owned on this one. The listening ratio is 80% music/20% movies. The main idea is it needs to sound like a significant upgrade over my last sub so a 10" driver and overall better low frequency performance is a minimum requirement.
