So, I tried out a pair of Rotel RB1091 amps this weekend. Some people may call it sacrilege, but we all have to try new things at some point.

I had my doubts about their potential to have any warmth to them whatsoever, being class D and all.

Man was I wrong. Thanks to an almost inexhaustable amount of available power, these amps brought new life to my system exposing details I had never heard before. And because no matter what you do you are never close to their limits, there is never even the slightest hint of harshness.

In fact, they're actually pretty laid back. I am absoloutely loving them. No matter what I throw at them, be it from vinyl or CD, the feeling of actually having the musicians in my room with me is so real its quite spooky.

The speakers have disappeared completely, along with the walls of the room. There is just the music.

Anyone else made the plunge into the 'digital' domain?
