I just had a mini-review of what must be the audio-worlds biggest bargain!
The Sonic Impact Class T amplifier.
Its footprint is not bigger than a CD jewelcase but it puts out a whopping 15 watts into 8 ohms. Drove my KEF C55 (120 watt 8 ohm) speakers with ease. Bass is nice and tight and the highs is tube-like. BTW, we did a direct comparison with my QUAD mkII tube amps. It features a single volume control at the front, a mini-jack input on the rear with the 13.5 vdc power socket and a set of spring-clip speaker connectors.
Build-quality is amazing and the sound quality even better!
ZAR price: +/- R350 (!!)
