Just a pat on the back for Gert with his Musiland Monitor 01 US imports. What incredible value on the South African market, selling them locally for less than you can get them on the US market!
Pacific Valve sells them for $109 (109 U.S. dollars = 733.078661 South African rands today), so had you imported them, after duties and shipping would be close to R900 - Gert sold them on introductory price for R700!!!
By now everybody must know that I have a beef with inflated local prices, specially with items that sell on the "High Street" overseas for relatively little. I don't believe these affordable items should be sold by the specialist dealers locally. Because of their higher overheads and investment in repair and maintenance facilities they cannot sell these items at competitive prices unless they adopt a bulk sale model which is hard in the limited SA market.
