Complete Newbie Looking For Feedback

Hello All!

Sorry for the rambling post!!

I'm a complete newbie. I started out wanting to buy a sound bar and things quickly escalated out of hand to the stage of me going to components after my initial research lead me to believe that sound bars are not great in comparison.

Conceivably I could spend up to R70k but I don't want to spend this just for the sake of it. Also I'm worried that because I don't know what I'm doing that I waste it.

The majority of my use of the system would for music. I'm not a huge action movie fan but do like dramas, cinema nouveau stuff and comedies (and sport). So my my first question is in my limited research I have heard that music sounds better with just stereo and an amp (as opposed to a receiver). And the movies I watch will be just as good in stereo? PS what is the difference between a pre-amp, power amp and integrated amp? (Haha sorry I told you I was new at this!!)

I heard some Cambridge Audio Aero 6's, Martin Logan Esl and Kef 650s yesterday. The Aero 6 blew me away! So Warm! Martin Logans were obviously also great (but at 5 times the price). I didn't like the KEF at all. Far too punchy for me.

Currently I'm leaning heavily toward the Aero 6 at R9k from Ultra

What amp would you pair with this? Bearing in mind I could buy a really decent amp now in case I upgrade to other speakers in future?

But I could get the whole Aero 5.1 package for R30k and this includes a Pioneer VSX 924 Receiver. But now will this make my music sound worse? For the small benefit of the occasional action movie I watch..

I'm going to go have a listen to Onkyo today to see how I like them.. Ultimately I'm going to take it slowly and in the end I think I'm going to base my decision not on price only but what sounds good to my ears! Here is a short list of other stuff I want to listen to:
