Ive been breaking my head on what the best idea would be to complete my setup for now. I'm considering surrounds and sub changes... But not sure if it's worth it and which if it is to change first. Impossible to share facts here, but opinions would be appreciated.
The problem I'm faced with is looking at spec means nothing nowadays. I've heard speakers that shouldn't have decent lows sound phenomenal and vice versa. I've got a Denon x3400h with dual (independant) sub control through audessey, and decided to go with two smaller subs back in the day. Yamaha sw12 which have decent lows especially for their size (8"), and having 2 makes up for the lack of power.
I've got monitor audio floor standers and a centre speaker, but now decided instead of going Atmos, I'd rather use zone 2 for outside speakers.
I've currently got Celestion F10 bookshelf speakers as surround which match the Monitor Audio quite well tone wise, but (although not a fan of Wharfedale) are considering using my Vardus VR-100 as the surrounds.
I use the system for both movies and music... The changes will obviously affect movie sound much more than music, so focusing on movies what would you consider the best option would be:
1)Leave the Celestion and Wharfedale speakers and get the Monitor Audio FX surrounds to complete the set.
2)Drop the 2 Yamaha subs, and look at the Monitor Audio bronze SW (which seem to not have as much low down as the Yamaha, but twice the power - although I would go with 1 and not 2...)
3)Leave everything as is.
