To what extent should one try and match components in speakers and amps?
My speakers have matched drivers, but I never actually checked that the 10W resistors I'm using to pad the tweeters are matched. I now actually want to seeing as they are not 1% jobbies.
Then, taking that further, what about the L&C component?
On my amp the output filter uses a hand (my hand) wounded inductor with 5W resistors. If I consider how much of a change to the sound playing around with resistor values made, I'm sure its worth matching these. (?) Once again, what about the feedback and input caps? Output transistors? Where do you stop?
