I am looking for some advice on upgrading caps in my Copland CTA-505 tube amp.
My feeling that the yellow polyprop coupling caps [ ICEL 2.2uf 630v ] can be improved on for better sound.
My question is whether it is better to replace them or to bypass them with some high quality small value ones
It would presumably be much easier to bypass the existing ones - no need to cut leads or desolder etc.
I thinkI should look at replacing the electrolytics as well [ maybe with film types in certain places] because the amp is probably 15+ years old by now.
Any expert advice will be appreciated.
