An earlier thread, insuring couriered goods refers.

I received a parcel yesterday from Durban sent via DHL couriers. Amplifer bought from a seller on AVSA classads. I arranged courier services to collect and deliver to my office in Cape Town. Amplifer was well packages but arrived with balance knob nsapped off on the shaft. The box must have been mishandled somewhere as there were imprints / evidence on the side of the box where the knob was.

Courier compnay's response: a representative will collect the item for eturn to Johannesburg for inspection and investigation. I protested this idea and we agreed on photographs and a report from me to be sent to JHB for investigation.

I hope we get somewhere here. My problem - I am not sure the part is still avaoialble and if a "pirate" part will affect the operations in any way. Its just such a negative thing all the way - I opt for and pay the extra fee for coureier thinking its a sfae and secure option with efficient service (overnight). One;s trust is always violated by what appears to be poor service and negligent work. Instead of me enjoying the purchase I now sit with a problem of trying to restore the item aesthetically and sorting out a service problem.

Will report on eventual outcome.
