Working for an essential service provider, we worked through the "lockdown" yeah, people still had parties, braai fires were still lit and cigarettes were still sold. Working from home, my hours have been less and so have my pay = no work, no pay. I have been back at the office now for 2 weeks and my "working" hours are more. BUT, I do know that I will not receive more pay because I worked more hours.
So my sixth sense, my gut feeling, is telling me that many companies are going to use the CCP pandemic as an opportunity to permanently reduce salaries.
I had a disagreement with our ops manager today wanting me to work (her shift) the weekend and I declined due to the pay cuts. Since lockdown, I have no idea how I have been remunerated. No payslips have been forthcoming, even if asked for a payslip.
