Hi all,

So I've been running three systems ...

1.  Real world system (this is the one allowed in the lounge): Samsung blueray / Cambridge Audio Azur 550A / AR Classic 5
2.  Sort-of entry-level high-end system (this is kept in storage most of the time):  random DAC, Conrad Johnson PV10, Pass Aleph 5, Apogee Centaurs
3.  Head-fi listening station (allowed to be on permanent display, so long as there are no wires visible when I leave the house): NuPrime uDSD / SPL Phonitor or Perreaux SXH2 / Senn HD 600 and 800 and some other cans.

My problem started when Stereosane posted a heads-up for a pair of Sonus Faber Concertos ... I've always had a thing for Italian design, and Sonus Faber is no exception.  So after almost a week of typical indecisiveness I decided to pull the trigger.  This is now to be part of a serious system,  but one that must integrate seamlessly into the living space I share with my wife and kids.

Any ideas on a nice discreet and cost-effective system, but one with really decent sound?  I'm thinking something like a small integrated Krell or Classe or Plinius (maybe the Vincent Oom Doep has on offer?).  Or maybe a direct digital DAC like the Wadia 121 with an unobstrusive amp ... think Marantz MA22 monoblocks (if I could find and afford them).  Remote control is a definite plus.

Secondly, I'm looking to build some replica stands for them.  I think the pic below shows the period designs ...

Don't particularly like the all wood adjustable type, and leather may be tricky to work with.  That leaves the steel / walnut composite models.  Anyone have a pair who would be willing to take some basic measurements?

Thanks!
