DAC or amplifier? Which makes the biggest difference to sound quality

Hi Guys,

If I could only afford to buy either a DAC or an amplifier, which one should I go for?

Reason for asking is that I'm wanting to buy some stereo components and in particular I'm looking at the Rega DAC and Brio R combination but will most likely only be able to afford one for the time being.

The source would be the Pure I-2O dock and speakers are Heybrook HB3 floorstanders , currently powered by a Denon 1910 AV receiver
