We booked a VW Polo sedan (or similar) from Hertz for last Friday.
When my wife arrived, the car she booked was not available and they gave her a 'free upgrade' to a brand new Hyundai Tucson.
My wife took the super insurance, tyre and windscreen waivers. The friendly chap there tells her on asking what the small print means, tells her she is now fully covered and that no excess is due if something goes wrong.
On the M1 she got stone chip on the windscreen and a crack developed.
Hertz is now insisting on R650 excess (on the first R6000) and another R5000 cash as the Tucson's windscreen costs R11k.
They are basically shutting the door on talking about it and just trying to debit the cc.
Anyways, any advice?
