Decided to spend the last leg of the long weekend taking in a bit of the countryside and a little history. Pointed the car to Branfort to visit my grandfather's birthplace (he turns 90 on the 17th). We stop at the grandkids (i.e. my age) of a bloke my grandad was friends with and get invited in for coffee. Anyhow, we're sitting in the lounge drinking 'boeretroos' when the grandson mentions that his father passed away a few months back and they've still got to get rid of some of their belongings but nobody wants it. I ask why they don't just donate the stuff and he says that it's an old TT and thus of no use to charities. My interest is immediately piqued and I ask to see what it is, suggesting if it's decent I may be interested in buying. Lo and behold, if it isn't the mother of all finds :faint::
I won't mention what I paid but suffice to say my wife could not wipe the smile off my face for the 340km that followed. ;D ;D ;D
