On Saturday I had the unplanned opportunity to audition some MBL amplifiers and speakers. Having heard them before when they were freshly unpacked I was expecting the same sonic signature as before. Aurender media player, ARC Ref 6, Arc DAC, MBL monoblocks and MBL speakers.
Needless to say it was soon evident I was in for a shock. These speakers suddenly had an uncanny natural openness, speed and a low end impact that immediately grabbed my attention. Up to now I have never heard drums so realistic reproduced in any audio system.
To describe the experience is impossible. It needs to be experienced.
