Hi everyone
Yesterday I made some changes to my B&W 602s cabinets and had to remove the woofer. Much to my surprise I found a clothes peg attached to the spider of the woofer....I suspect some repairs were done to the spider at some stage. The result is a deformed spider. Its still intact and not torn anywhere.
I know its sort of responsible for aligning the voice coil in the magnet. I cannot hear any rubbing, and even if there was any rubbing, this speaker would have blown long ago. I have this speaker for a year or so and it has worked hard a few times...I have no idea how long the peg has been in there.
Should this spider be replaced, and if so, where do I find replacement?
Thanks
