Denon (AVR-X3000) Remote volume buttons not working

Hi everyone, my Denon remote volume buttons don't work. Anyone else that experienced this problem, at first I thought it my be a faulty remote, but after googling it this morning, it seems someone else had this issue and after buying a new remote, the volume still did not work, which then basically makes it an software issue on the receiver itself. Perhaps I have a setting set on the receiver that invalidates remote volume control?
